Volunteering with Dedication: Staying Passionate
Meet Babes’ long-time Babes volunteer, Spradha Sinha. A dedicated volunteer for over 8 years, she has done everything from sorting in-kind donations, to supporting outreach efforts, and is now the lead helpline volunteer — which means she’s often the first point of contact for girls and their family members who require assistance.
“Being a mother to teens, I saw them growing through distractions and vulnerabilities, which led me to join Babes. The most fulfilling thing that keeps me going is guiding them to overcome their fears and concerns and to make responsible decisions. These helpline calls could be quite disturbing, and it does require me to first keep my own composure, to be non-judgmental, and then guide girls step by step. Though this can be mentally draining at times, when I look back, it’s quite a fulfilling and enriching work at Babes. It has helped me to connect and give back to this vulnerable group of society, who is often neglected. “
🎉 To celebrate women in this month of March #iwd2023, we will be featuring 10 inspiring women from our Babes community. In a photoshoot to capture the essence of courage and strength, they are our volunteers, partners, and community members—women with different stories with different starting points. We #EmbraceEquity as we celebrate their resilience, kindness, and determination, incredible role models striving for a world where everyone has the same opportunities and rights, and where inclusivity and diversity are celebrated and embraced. 💪
